Rep. Frederica Wilson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 24th district, recently shared messages on social media celebrating Mother’s Day and an upcoming academic event. Known for her longstanding political career and dedication to education, Rep. Wilson’s posts reflect her commitment to honoring mothers and supporting young scholars.

On May 11, 2025, Rep. Wilson extended a heartfelt greeting for Mother’s Day: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there. Thank you for your love, strength, and wisdom every single day. Today and everyday, we celebrate you!”

The following day, on May 12, 2025, she further elaborated on the significance of Mother’s Day by acknowledging various forms of maternal influence: “Mother’s Day is for every woman who gives her heart, her strength, and her love—whether to her own children or to those she’s chosen to uplift. It’s for the moms who show up every day, even when no one’s watching.” She emphasized the importance of mother figures who guide and nurture future generations.

In addition to celebrating mothers, Rep. Wilson announced an educational event related to the @5000RoleModels program on May 12: “Join the @5000RoleModels as we celebrate the 2025 Wilson Scholars for their prestigious scholarship academic signing ceremony.” Scheduled for May 31st at 1 PM, this event marks a significant milestone as it honors students receiving scholarships before they embark on their college journeys.

Frederica Wilson has served in Congress since replacing Kendrick Meek in 2011 and previously held positions in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. Born in Miami in 1942 and residing in Miami Gardens today, she remains an influential figure committed to public service.
