Yesterday, in Washington, D.C., Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart of Florida officially inducted Representatives Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine into the 119th Congress. Congressman Díaz-Balart, who represents the 26th district and serves as the Dean of the Florida Delegation, welcomed the newly elected members, highlighting their significant experience in state politics and alignment with conservative principles.
In welcoming them, Díaz-Balart stated, “As Dean of the Florida Delegation, the third-largest delegation in Congress, it is a pleasure to welcome both Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine to the U.S. House of Representatives.” He emphasized their past work in the Florida House and Senate, noting their dedication to issues such as school choice, support for first responders, veterans, and law enforcement, combatting antisemitism, and strengthening alliances with countries like Israel. Díaz-Balart added, “Their extensive experience…will be an asset to our Conference and in advancing President Donald J. Trump’s agenda. Together, we will work to get our country back on track and make America great again.”
Representative Jimmy Patronis previously served as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal, in addition to his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014.
Representative Randy Fine, identified as the only Jewish Republican in the Florida Legislature, served in the Florida Senate after his earlier role in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2024.
