House Appropriations Vice Chairman Mario Díaz-Balart has expressed his approval following the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of President Trump’s “One, Big Beautiful Bill.”

Díaz-Balart stated, “Once again, House Republicans are delivering on the mandate we promised to the American people under the leadership of President Trump by passing the ‘One, Big Beautiful Bill.’ This legislation responsibly reduces excess spending while protecting vital programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare benefits, for eligible Americans in need.”

The bill aims to provide tax relief to taxpayers in Florida’s 26th Congressional District by making permanent the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). Díaz-Balart noted that if the TCJA had expired on December 31, 2025, taxpayers in FL-26 would have faced a 24% tax increase. The legislation ensures continued deductions for these taxpayers.

In addition to tax measures, the bill addresses border security by increasing investments in border patrol agents. It also includes initiatives to expand the child tax credit to support working families and proposes changes intended to boost American energy production by reversing certain policies from the Biden Administration.
