Florida Representatives commend Ecuador’s President for enhancing regional security

Reps. María Elvira Salazar, Mario Díaz-Balart, and Carlos A. Giménez have expressed their support for Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa’s contributions towards enhancing security cooperation between the U.S. and Ecuador. The lawmakers praised Noboa, emphasizing his role in maintaining Ecuador as a vital ally in the region.

In a statement, the three U.S. representatives acknowledged President Noboa’s leadership in advancing regional security and stability. They highlighted his administration’s efforts in combating transnational drug trafficking, countering China’s influence, and addressing illegal fishing near the Galapagos Islands.

The statement also noted the upcoming election in Ecuador on Sunday, April 13, stressing the importance of strengthening democratic institutions and reinforcing transparency and rule of law in the country. “We look forward to our countries continuing to expand our defense and security cooperation, which will enhance joint efforts to address critical challenges in the region while upholding our shared democratic values,” they stated.
