Rep. Frederica Wilson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 24th district, has recently shared her thoughts and activities through social media. The congresswoman, who succeeded Kendrick Meek in 2011, continues to engage with her constituents and broader community on various issues.
On June 18, 2025, Rep. Wilson celebrated the Florida Panthers’ achievement by expressing her excitement over their consecutive championship victories. She wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FLORIDA PANTHERS! Back to back champions!”.
Later that day, she highlighted her meeting with participants from the CHCI NextGen Latino Leadership Program in Washington D.C., acknowledging their potential and commitment. Her tweet stated: “I recently met with South Florida participants of the @CHCI NextGen Latino Leadership Program in Washington D.C. Their passion and dedication were inspiring, and I know their futures are exceptionally bright!”.
On June 19, Rep. Wilson marked Juneteenth by emphasizing its significance as a time for remembrance and reflection on Black resilience and equality efforts. She urged collective action towards a just future: “On Juneteenth, we remember our ancestors, celebrate Black resilience, and honor the ongoing fight for equality and justice. Let’s uplift Black voices and recommit ourselves to a brighter, more just, and freer future for all.”
Frederica Wilson has been serving in Congress since 2011 after holding positions in both the Florida Senate from 2002 to 2010 and the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002.
