Representative Frederica Wilson, currently serving Florida’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared her views on several pressing issues via social media. Her comments address gun violence, economic policies, and healthcare programs, reflecting her legislative priorities and concerns.
On May 6, 2025, Rep. Wilson expressed her involvement with the Democratic Women’s Caucus and Gabby Giffords to discuss the impact of gun policies on women. She emphasized the need for national action against gun violence by stating “I was glad to join @DemWomenCaucus and @GabbyGiffords to discuss the fatal cost of Republicans’ gun agenda for women. As a nation, it’s time we once and for all take action to combat gun violence.”
The following day, May 7, 2025, she criticized Republican economic policies in another post. Rep. Wilson highlighted their detrimental effects on the economy and infrastructure projects: “Republicans’ reckless policies are crashing the economy in real time and raising costs for everyday goods. This chaos has to stop. It’s having real consequence on everyday people and delaying water infrastructure projects across the nation.”
Later that same day, Rep. Wilson addressed healthcare concerns regarding Medicaid cuts proposed by Republicans. She firmly opposed these actions with a clear stance: “There is no way to spin it: Republicans want to slash Medicaid and kick people off their healthcare plans. END OF STORY! Republicans need to keep their hands off Medicaid! I will vote ‘no’ on any attempts to slash basic needs programs.”
Frederica Wilson has served in Congress since 2011 after replacing Kendrick Meek and has been an active advocate for various social issues throughout her career.
