Frederica Wilson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 24th district since 2011, recently addressed pressing international concerns through a series of tweets. Her statements reflect her position on Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its implications for global security.

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Frederica Wilson stated that “Iran has declared death to Israel and death to the United States, and they must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.” This comment underscores her stance on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities due to perceived threats against Israel and the United States.

In another tweet posted on the same day, she emphasized the importance of Israel’s security by stating that “When Israel is strong, America is safe, and Israel has the right to defend themselves against any and all attacks.” She further noted that “A nuclear Iran remains a grave threat to Israel, the United States, and the world.”

Furthermore, Wilson expressed solidarity with Israel during challenging times in her tweet: “My heart goes out to the Israeli people during this trying time.” She conveyed hope for peace in the region by stating her commitment to monitoring developments closely: “I will continue to monitor the situation in the region, and it is my hope that longstanding peace can still be achieved in the region.”

Frederica Wilson was born in Miami Gardens in 1942. She holds a BA from Fisk University (1963) and began serving in public office with roles including positions within Broward County before entering state politics.
