U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson, who represents Florida’s 24th district in Congress, posted several messages on her official Twitter account this week, including calls for the return of hostages, birthday wishes to a colleague, and appreciation for her interns.
On July 16, 2025, Wilson emphasized her ongoing support for efforts to secure the release of hostages with a post stating: “Today and every Wednesday is #WearBlueWednesday! Enough is enough! It’s time to #BringBackTheHostages. #BringThemHomeNow https://t.co/DDGyPFkZKR”.
The following day, she acknowledged House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark’s birthday by writing: “Happy birthday @WhipKClark! Grateful to serve with you everyday! https://t.co/z0zBUhp7SB” on July 17, 2025.
Later that evening, Wilson shared appreciation for her staff: “I have the best interns in all Capitol Hill! They have worked so hard in DC and Miami, and I am grateful to them! https://t.co/MkXzbrG9wV”, also posted on July 17.
Frederica Wilson has served in the U.S. Congress since 2011 after replacing Kendrick Meek as representative for Florida’s 24th district. She previously held positions in the Florida Senate from 2002 to 2010 and in the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002. Born in Miami in 1942 and currently residing in Miami Gardens, Wilson graduated from Fisk University with a BA in 1963.
