Rep. Frederica Wilson, who represents Florida’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed a range of policy issues on her social media accounts, focusing on aviation, healthcare funding, and civic engagement.
On August 19, 2025, Wilson posted: “Happy National Aviation Day!
As a proud member of Congress’s Aviation Subcommittee, I’ll always stand with our airports—like @iflymia and @FLLFlyer—our airlines, and our airline workers to ensure safe, reliable flights for every traveler.”
The following day, she highlighted concerns regarding healthcare funding for specialty care facilities: “In this whole healthcare debacle, let’s not forget our EARS, EYES, and TEETH, which requires that our specialty care facilities are PROTECTED AND PROPERLY FUNDED!” (August 20, 2025).
Continuing her outreach efforts to constituents and the public at large, Wilson announced an upcoming virtual event: “I’m hosting a teletown hall next week on our Democracy, Health, and Future. I’ll be joined by multiple national leaders as we discuss what’s been going on in Congress and this administration.
Mark your calendars for next Wednesday—you won’t want to miss it!” (August 21, 2025).
Frederica Wilson has represented Florida’s 24th District in Congress since 2011 after succeeding Kendrick Meek. She previously served in the Florida Senate from 2002 to 2010 and the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002. Born in Miami in 1942 and currently residing in Miami Gardens at age 80, Wilson is also an alumna of Fisk University with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned in 1963.
