U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson, who serves Florida’s 24th district, posted a series of tweets this week addressing issues ranging from investigative journalism to education funding and her involvement in the Congressional Black Caucus.
On July 23, Wilson highlighted the role of local journalism in exposing high-profile crimes. She wrote, “As Epstein resurfaces in the news, don’t forget it was the @MiamiHerald that blew the lid off Epstein’s crimes. Their investigative journalism skills is the reason Epstein was eventually imprisoned.”
Later that day, she expressed pride in her affiliation with a key congressional organization. On July 23, she tweeted, “I’m proud to be part of the Congressional Black Caucus today and every day!”
Two days later, on July 25, Wilson commented on recent federal action regarding school funding. She stated, “After much pressure from myself and my colleagues, President Trump has released the frozen funds to public schools in South Florida. That’s $45 million for @MDCPS and $30 million for @browardschools. As a lifelong educator, I’ll always fight for our public schools and children.”
Frederica Wilson has represented Florida’s 24th District in Congress since 2011 after succeeding Kendrick Meek. Her prior experience includes service in both chambers of the Florida legislature and on the Broward County School Board (source: FACT 1; FACT 2).
