Frederica Wilson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 24th district, recently addressed several important community issues through her social media updates. Her remarks reflected a commitment to immigration oversight, youth engagement, and community pride.

On April 25, 2025, Wilson emphasized the necessity for Members of Congress to conduct oversight by visiting ICE facilities. In a tweet, she stated: “Members of Congress must conduct oversight by visiting ICE facilities across the country. We are an immigrant-rich nation, and our hardworking immigrant neighbors—who contribute so much to this country—deserve dignity and opportunity, not inhumane treatment.”

The next day, April 26, 2025, Wilson praised the success of the third annual 5000 Role Models Police and Youth ‘Little Boys Bee’ Spelling Bee in a tweet. “The 3rd annual @5000RoleModels Police and Youth ‘Little Boys Bee’ Spelling Bee was such an incredible event. All the boys were so smart and worked so hard. They have bright futures, and you should have seen them earlier this week. I am so proud of all of them! #WeAre5000” she stated.

On April 28, 2025, Wilson celebrated the 78th birthday of Bay Harbor Islands. In her tweet, she remarked: “Happy 78th Birthday to the Town of Bay Harbor Islands. From the stunning waterfronts to the vibrant spirit of the residents, Bay Harbor Islands truly shines. I’m proud to represent such an incredible place!”

Frederica Wilson, who replaced Kendrick Meek in 2011, has been an active representative of her district. Her career includes service in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives.
