Mario Díaz-Balart, a long-serving U.S. Representative of Florida’s 26th District, expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Díaz-Balart, who has been in Congress since 2003 and previously served in the Florida state legislature, shared his opinions about current border policies, the economy, and a proposed budget.
On May 1, 2025, Díaz-Balart criticized the current border policy by mentioning the situation of Héctor Alejandro Hernández Morales, who he claims “lives freely in the United States” due to President Biden’s “failed and dangerous border policy,” describing this development as “indignant.” “El creciente número de casos que están saliendo a la luz sobre operativos del régimen—como el caso reportado de Héctor Alejandro Hernández Morales—quien vive libremente en Estados Unidos gracias a la política fronteriza fallida y peligrosa de Biden, es indignante.”
On May 2, 2025, he commended the job growth under the current administration, noting that “177,000 jobs added in April” represented the second consecutive month of surpassing job expectations. Díaz-Balart highlighted that this accomplishment demonstrated the President’s role in revitalizing the economy. “177,000 jobs added in April––the second month in a row where the jobs report has beaten expectations, proving once again that the President is revitalizing the U.S. economy. The workforce is growing, and businesses are bringing jobs back home.”
Later that same day, Díaz-Balart acknowledged former President Trump’s efforts to provide Americans with maximum returns on their tax investments by removing “wasteful, bureaucratic programs” and advocating for a budget prioritizing “fiscally responsible spending.” “I applaud President Trump’s continued commitment to ensuring Americans receive the full return of their investment by eliminating wasteful, bureaucratic programs that do not serve our country. His proposed budget puts Americans first by prioritizing fiscally responsible spending.”
Díaz-Balart, 61, resides in Miami, Florida, and is an alumnus of the University of South Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
