Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, recently shared updates on social media regarding Cuba and local manufacturing in Florida.

On August 5, 2025, Díaz-Balart highlighted the ongoing efforts of Cuban dissidents by stating, “Cuba será libre gracias a héroes como Duannis León Taboada, Félix Navarro y José Daniel Ferrer, quienes continúan luchando por la libertad absoluta del pueblo cubano.” On the same day, he commented on U.S. policy towards officials from the Cuban government: “¡Excelentes noticias! Los represores del régimen en Cuba no tienen cabida en Estados Unidos.”

The following day, Díaz-Balart visited a local business in Medley, Florida. He posted about his experience at Mr. Glass Doors and Windows Manufacturing: “I had a great visit at Mr. Glass Doors and Windows Manufacturing in Medley, FL. Its products say it all: ‘PROUD TO BE A U.S. MANUFACTURER.’ I was pleased to share how the One Big Beautiful Bill backs companies like this with real Made-in-America incentives.”

Díaz-Balart has been active in public service for decades. Before serving in Congress since 2003, he was a member of both the Florida House of Representatives (1988-1992) and the Florida Senate (1992-2000). He was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami. Díaz-Balart is also an alumnus of the University of South Florida.
