Mario Díaz-Balart, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 26th District, has been active on social media, addressing various issues and engagements. Díaz-Balart, who was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami, has served in Congress since 2003 after previously holding positions in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.
On June 4, 2025, Díaz-Balart expressed solidarity with Cuban students and citizens protesting against their government. He stated, “Estados Unidos se solidariza con los valientes estudiantes y con el pueblo cubano que se manifiestan pacificamente contra el régimen opresivo y corrupto de Cuba.”
The following day, on June 5, 2025, he shared his experience meeting with members of the Airline Pilots Association. He highlighted their role in maintaining connectivity through travel and efficient cargo movement. He noted that “Thanks to their skill and dedication, people stay connected through travel, and essential cargo continues to move efficiently.” Additionally, he mentioned the House’s recent passage of President Trump’s One.
Later that day, Díaz-Balart announced an upcoming live appearance with Marian de la Fuente on Actualidad Radio. He invited his audience to tune in by stating “EN VIVO en unos minutos con Marian de la Fuente por @ActualidadRadio. ¡No se lo pierda!”
Díaz-Balart graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
