Mario Díaz-Balart, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, shared his perspectives on various issues through recent social media posts. Having previously served in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate, Díaz-Balart continues to engage with both domestic and international matters.
On June 4, 2025, Díaz-Balart expressed concern over Cuba’s practice of sending its doctors abroad. He described it as “a form of modern human trafficking” and thanked Senator Marco Rubio for holding accountable those involved in exploiting Cuban medical professionals “Gracias, @SecRubio…”.
Later that day, Díaz-Balart highlighted his engagement with realtors from Miami and Naples during their visit to Washington D.C. He reiterated his commitment to supporting relevant legislation as Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee “It was great to welcome realtors…”.
In another post on June 4, he voiced support for Cuban students and citizens protesting against what he termed an oppressive regime. His statement underscored solidarity with those advocating for change in Cuba “The United States stands in solidarity…”.
Díaz-Balart was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and resides in Miami. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree.
