Mario Díaz-Balart, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, has been vocal on social media regarding recent events and issues. His posts cover topics from democracy to international relations.

On June 8, 2025, Díaz-Balart addressed an incident he described as an attack on democracy. He stated, “This is an attack on democracy and those who did this must be held accountable.”

The following day, June 9, 2025, he expressed his pleasure in meeting with individuals committed to community service. He tweeted in Spanish: “Siempre un placer poder reunirme con estos gran patriotas que luchan incansablemente por nuestra comunidad.” The tweet mentioned @LosPichyBoys.

On June 10, 2025, Díaz-Balart commented on the political situation in Colombia. He remarked that it was “unfortunate and troubling that the Colombian government appears to be reverting toward a quasi-failed state,” which could jeopardize the U.S.-Colombia relationship that has contributed significantly to peace and prosperity.

Díaz-Balart was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
