With a background that includes service in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate, Díaz-Balart is known for his involvement in international relations, particularly with regard to Latin American affairs.

On April 18, Díaz-Balart expressed his gratitude to former President Donald Trump and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio via social media. “Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump and @secrubio, for always prioritizing our national security interests in the region and holding Ortega and his thugs accountable for their reprehensible actions against the Nicaraguan people.”

Shortly thereafter, Díaz-Balart reiterated his appreciation in Spanish. “Gracias, Presidente @realDonaldTrump y @secrubio, por priorizar siempre nuestros intereses de seguridad nacional en la región y por responsabilizar a Ortega y a sus matones por sus acciones detestables contra el pueblo nicaragüense.” The message underscores his focus on holding Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega accountable for his government’s actions.

Two days later, on April 20, Díaz-Balart shared a holiday message with his followers. Wishing his audience well, he wrote “He is Risen. Wishing you and your family a joyful and blessed Easter Sunday. Deseándoles a usted y a su familia un bendecido y feliz Domingo de Pascua.” The tweet reflects his personal touch and connection with his constituents during the Easter holiday.
