Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, posted a series of statements on March 16, 2026, addressing issues ranging from tax policy and federal employee pay to international security concerns.

In his first post at 14:00 UTC, Díaz-Balart stated, “The Working Families Tax Cuts saves 242 family-owned farms in Florida’s 26th district, particularly Collier County, from the death tax.”

Later that day at 15:50 UTC, he commented on the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on Transportation Security Administration employees: “Democrats are playing political games with the livelihoods of hardworking TSA agents now working without pay because of the Democrat-led shutdown. About 50,000 TSA agents missed their first full paycheck last Friday. Chuck Schumer can stop this today.”

At 16:13 UTC, Díaz-Balart addressed foreign affairs by posting: “Evidence shows the Iranian regime is responsible for this attack.”

Díaz-Balart has represented Florida’s 26th District in Congress since 2003 after serving in both chambers of the Florida legislature. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
