Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, made several statements on his social media account on April 7, 2026, addressing U.S. policy toward Cuba and Venezuela as well as local initiatives for veterans in Collier County.

In a post published at 14:27 UTC, Díaz-Balart stated: “Díaz-Balart: Trump no hará concesiones a Cuba y la salida para Venezuela debe ser elecciones libres”.

Later the same day at 14:44 UTC, he added: “Yo siempre he dicho que yo no estoy dispuesto a dar plazos. Lo que sí estoy totalmente seguro y confiado: a éste régimen no le queda demasiado.”

At 16:51 UTC, Díaz-Balart shifted focus to local affairs, writing: “Thrilled to deliver $9M for veterans in Collier County, the most veteran-friendly county in Florida! This will support the construction and full buildout of a Veterans Community Center, which will offer a centralized hub for resources, programming, and community engagement”.

Díaz-Balart has represented Florida’s 26th District in Congress since 2003 after serving in both chambers of the Florida legislature. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami, he is an alumnus of the University of South Florida.
