Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, announced on July 21, 2025, that his bill to create a unique ZIP code for Miami Lakes has passed the House of Representatives.

In a post on July 21, Díaz-Balart wrote: “Big win for Miami Lakes! My bill, H.R. 672, to create a unique ZIP code for the town just passed the House. This bill aims to fix mail delays, improve census accuracy, and protect vital funding for local services. Next stopthe Senate.” The congressman followed up with another message providing further information: “My full statement”.

On July 22, Díaz-Balart shared details about an upcoming radio appearance: “¡Estaré EN VIVO a las 8:30 está mañana por @ActualidadRadio con @YolyCuello! No sé lo pierdan.”

Díaz-Balart has represented Florida’s 26th District in Congress since 2003 and previously served in both chambers of the Florida legislature. He was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
