Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, shared updates on social media about recent events and his views on international affairs.

On July 25, 2025, Díaz-Balart posted about attending a ceremony in Miami: “I was honored to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Honorary Deputy Devarjaye ‘DJ’ Daniel to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, alongside @Sheriff_Rosie and DJ’s dad, Theodis.” In a subsequent post on the same day, he highlighted DJ Daniel’s commitment to law enforcement: “DJ’s deep admiration for law enforcement is truly inspiring–he has set a personal mission to be sworn in by as many law enforcement agencies as possible. To date, DJ has been sworn in by over 1,300 law enforcement agencies, and I am thrilled that the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s”

Later that day, Díaz-Balart commented on international politics regarding Colombia’s president: “Otro ejemplo de cómo Petro se alinea con actores malignos, en este caso con terroristas de Hamás” (Translation: “Another example of how Petro aligns with malign actors, in this case with Hamas terrorists”).

Díaz-Balart was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami. He previously served in both chambers of the Florida Legislature before being elected to Congress. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
