Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003 and a longtime public servant, has addressed several pressing international and domestic issues in recent social media posts.

Later that day, he criticized Senate Democrats regarding federal pay delays, writing: “Senate Democrats are playing political games with the livelihoods of more than 85,000 personnel nationwide by denying paychecks.

Díaz-Balart’s statements come amid his long tenure in Congress and previous service in both chambers of Florida’s legislature. He was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami. The congressman holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
