On April 23, 2025, Díaz-Balart expressed his views following a meeting with Americans for Prosperity and constituents in Naples. He discussed the necessity to extend President Trump’s “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” (TCJA), enacted in December 2017. Díaz-Balart has a long history in politics, having served in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate before his tenure in Congress. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1961, he currently resides in Miami and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
