Mario Díaz-Balart, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District, recently shared several updates on social media reflecting his engagements and positions on various issues. Having served in Congress since 2003, Díaz-Balart brings extensive experience from his previous roles in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.

On June 19, 2025, Díaz-Balart congratulated Manny Diaz Jr. on his new role as interim President of the University of West Florida. He expressed confidence in Diaz’s capabilities by stating: “Congratulations to my friend @CommMannyDiazJr on his confirmation as interim President of the University of West Florida! I have witnessed firsthand Manny’s lifelong dedication to public service and education, and I am confident that he will do great things at UWF.”

The following day, June 20, 2025, Díaz-Balart thanked Governor Ron DeSantis for efforts related to Floridian safety. He directed those needing assistance to an online resource with a message: “Thank you @GovRonDeSantis for your leadership in helping bring Floridians home safely. Floridians in need of assistance can visit: https://t.co/zforkWwRPS https://t.co/tKlROjA5mY”

On June 22, 2025, Díaz-Balart voiced support for then-President Donald Trump regarding foreign policy towards Iran. His statement read: “I stand with our Commander-in-Chief President @realDonaldTrump in making sure the terrorist regime in Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. Proud of our exceptional military and proud to stand by our ally Israel.”

Mario Díaz-Balart was born in Fort Lauderdale and resides in Miami. A graduate from the University of South Florida with a BA degree, he continues to be active in both state and national political arenas.
