On June 19, 2025, Díaz-Balart congratulated Manny Diaz Jr. on his new role as interim President of the University of West Florida. Mario Díaz-Balart was born in Fort Lauderdale and resides in Miami. A graduate from the University of South Florida with a BA degree, he continues to be active in both state and national political arenas.
