Mario Díaz-Balart, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, shared updates on major national and international issues through his social media posts in April 2026.

On April 11, Díaz-Balart marked the return of the Artemis II crew from their lunar mission, stating: “Historic return for the Artemis II crew after their 10-day journey around the moon. Their mission represents the very best of American excellence and leadership in space. Welcome, home. “

Two days later, on April 13, he celebrated progress in Everglades restoration efforts at a key event: “Great to celebrate another milestone to advance Everglades Restoration, at the ‘crown jewel’ of the Everglades–The Everglades Agricultural Area Reservoir. Today, alongside @USACEHQ Assistant Secretary Telle and Governor DeSantis, it was announced that the EAA reservoir will” The post highlighted collaboration with federal and state officials to improve environmental outcomes in South Florida.

Díaz-Balart has served in Congress for over two decades following earlier roles in both chambers of Florida’s legislature. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and residing in Miami, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.
