Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, posted several updates on his Twitter account on September 3 and 4, 2025. The tweets covered topics ranging from international human rights recognition to upcoming media appearances.

On September 3, Díaz-Balart expressed support for Berta Soler, leader of the Ladies in White human rights group. He wrote: “I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of the Lech Walęsa Solidarity Prize than Berta Soler, the iconic leader of the renowned human rights group Ladies in White @DamasdBlanco. She is one of the most courageous pro-democracy and pro-freedom voices standing against the https://t.co/KkKRrAoimj”.

Díaz-Balart has served in Congress since 2003 after prior terms in both chambers of Florida’s state legislature. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami, he holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
