Mario Díaz-Balart, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003 and a longtime public servant in the state, recently shared several updates on his social media account addressing legislative priorities, staff recognition, and international affairs.

On July 31, 2025, Díaz-Balart posted about domestic manufacturing efforts, stating: “The One Big Beautiful Bill: Proudly Pro-Made-In-America.”

Later that same day, he acknowledged the contributions of his interns during National Intern Day with the message: “In honor of National Intern Day, I want to give a big shoutout to our amazing Summer 2025 interns in both my District and DC offices! On August 2, 2025, Díaz-Balart commented on legal developments in Colombia. He wrote: “Mientras las guerrillas asesinas y terroristas reciben amnistía, el expresidente que salvó a Colombia del colapso narco-terrorista enfrenta 12 años de cárcel. El Estado de derecho está en crisis.” (Translation: “While murderous and terrorist guerrillas receive amnesty, the former president who saved Colombia from narco-terrorist collapse faces 12 years in prison. The rule of law is in crisis.”)

Díaz-Balart has held office as a member of Congress for over two decades after earlier roles in the Florida House of Representatives (1988–1992) and Florida Senate (1992–2000). Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami at age 61, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.
