Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, posted a series of messages on September 2, 2025, focusing on support for the military and legislative action addressing the fentanyl crisis.

In his first post, Díaz-Balart wrote, “God bless our troops. https://t.co/U3ezwC34q5” (September 2, 2025).

Later that day, he addressed concerns about drug trafficking and border security. In a tweet published at 23:57 UTC, Díaz-Balart stated, “China produces the chemicals, Mexican cartels turn them into lethal drugs, and they flood across our southern border. Thanks to @POTUS’ law and order approach, the border is stronger and safer today.

This bill cracks down on those behind the fentanyl trade by sanctioning” (September 2, 2025).

In a concurrent post referencing recent legislation targeting the fentanyl crisis, he added: “Proud to have voted in favor of @RepAndyBarr’s Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act, holding the CCP accountable for its role in the fentanyl crisis that claims nearly 80K American lives every year. https://t.co/zFrcFSrXXE” (September 2, 2025).

Díaz-Balart has been active in public service for decades. He began his political career in the Florida House of Representatives in 1988 before serving in the Florida Senate until 2000. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami at age 61, he holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
