Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 26th District since 2003, recently highlighted his legislative achievements and involvement in a significant historical reinterment via posts on social media.

In another tweet from the same day, Díaz-Balart quoted an account of a notable event involving the reinterment of Carter at Arlington National Cemetery: “After a 50-year push fueled by Krell’s dogged persistence, Carter — first laid to rest at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes on Aug. 25, 1969 — was reinterred at Arlington National Cemetery in 2020 with help from longtime family friend U.S. Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart.” (September 5, 2025).

Later that afternoon, he wrote about recent tax legislation benefiting Floridians: “I’m proud to deliver REAL RESULTS alongside @HouseGOP to families in Florida. The Working Families Tax Cut, now law, allows Floridians to keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets by boosting yearly take-home pay by up to $12,700.” (September 5, 2025).

Díaz-Balart has represented Florida’s 26th District since entering Congress in 2003 and previously served in both chambers of the Florida legislature between 1988 and 2000. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami, he holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
