Mario Díaz-Balart, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, used his Twitter account on March 12, 2026, to comment on U.S.-Cuba relations and reflect on the anniversary of significant congressional action regarding Cuba.

Mario Díaz-Balart was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami. Before serving in Congress since 2003, he was a member of both chambers of Florida’s state legislature between 1988 and 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
