Díaz-Balart has been active in public service for decades; before joining Congress in 2003 as representative for Florida’s 26th District he served in both chambers of Florida’s legislature. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami at age 61, he holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
