Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, posted a series of messages on his social media account reflecting on national figures and commemorative events.
On August 28, 2025, Díaz-Balart shared a brief post referencing former President Donald Trump: “The Trump effect.”
The following day, August 29, he acknowledged the anniversary of the United States Marine Corps Reserves. In his message, he stated: “One hundred and nine years of service, sacrifice, dedication, and commitment. The USMC Reserves are always ready to be called up, whenever and wherever needed. Thank you for your service to our country. #SemperFi @marforres”
Later that day, Díaz-Balart recounted a local celebration honoring Georgie Carter Krell in Miami: “My team had the honor of celebrating the 94th birthday of Georgie Carter Krell—an extraordinary Gold Star mother and cherished member of the Village of Virginia Gardens. We also marked the unveiling of her portrait at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center in Miami. More than 50”
Díaz-Balart has been active in public service for several decades, having previously served in both chambers of Florida’s state legislature before being elected to Congress in 2003. He was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and resides in Miami. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.
