Mario Díaz-Balart, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, posted a series of statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account regarding Cuba and the Castro regime.

On March 11, 2026, Díaz-Balart called for the release of Saylí Navarro, stating: “¡Libertad para Saylí Navarro!”

Later that day, on March 12, he referenced the positions of former President Trump and Secretary Rubio concerning the Cuban government: “President Trump and Secretary Rubio have repeatedly stated that the anti-American Castro regime is not acceptable in our hemisphere.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m convinced this regime will not survive the remainder of this Trump presidency.” He also shared a separate post linking to an external source without additional commentary: “https://t.co/Rh5giIwgY8”.

Díaz-Balart has been active in politics for decades, having previously served in both chambers of the Florida legislature before joining Congress. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami, he holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
