Mario Díaz-Balart, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, recently expressed his gratitude to Legal Services of Greater Miami for honoring his brother, Lincoln Díaz-Balart, with a special tribute.

On August 26, 2025, Mario Díaz-Balart posted on X: “On behalf of my family, I am profoundly grateful to Legal Services of Greater Miami for this special tribute to my brother, the Honorable Lincoln Díaz-Balart, whose remarkable journey in public service began there as a staff attorney, providing free legal services to those most https://t.co/VxhT7HTjla”. In a subsequent post the same day at 17:05 UTC, he reiterated his message in Spanish: “En nombre de mi familia, expreso mi más profundo agradecimiento a Legal Services of Greater Miami por este homenaje tan especial a mi hermano, el Honorable Lincoln Díaz-Balart, cuya extraordinaria trayectoria en el servicio público comenzó precisamente allí, como abogado,”.

The posts followed an earlier tweet that day linking to another message: https://t.co/O13oma6zXW.

Mario Díaz-Balart has had a long career in public service himself. He has represented Florida’s 26th District in Congress since 2003 and previously served in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate between 1988 and 2000. Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently residing in Miami, Díaz-Balart holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.

Lincoln Díaz-Balart’s recognition by Legal Services of Greater Miami highlights his early contributions as a staff attorney offering free legal assistance—a starting point for what would become an extensive career in public service.
