Mario Díaz-Balart, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 26th District since 2003, posted a series of messages on October 7, 2025, addressing political developments in Venezuela and promoting an upcoming television interview.

In a message posted at 19:45 UTC, Díaz-Balart expressed support for Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, stating, “.@MariaCorinaYA es la nueva libertadora de Venezuela. En esta fecha especial, te enviamos fuerza, admiración y solidaridad por tu valentía y heroísmo al arriesgarlo todo por la causa sagrada de la libertad.”

Later that evening, at 21:32 UTC, Díaz-Balart commented on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, writing, “Maduro es un fugitivo de la justicia estadounidense.”

In a third post at 23:50 UTC, Díaz-Balart informed his followers about a media appearance: “My interview with @ClaireGaltTV from @winknews airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. Don’t miss it!”

Díaz-Balart, who was born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and currently resides in Miami, has a long history in public service. Before joining Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1988 to 1992 and in the Florida Senate from 1992 to 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.
