Marlon Smith, a former standout from Miami Carol City Senior High School and now a Columbus State Cougars player, is set to participate in the Division II NCAA Basketball Tournament.

The Cougars are entering the event as a No. 6 seed and will face the third-seeded Catawba Indians in their opening matchup.

The first-round game is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. at Abney Athletic Center.
