The Miami Dolphins have released fullback Alec Ingold and kicker Jason Sanders, the team announced on March 6, 2026.
Alec Ingold played in 107 career games with 58 starts over seven seasons for Oakland/Las Vegas (2019-21) and Miami (2022-25). He recorded 35 rushing attempts for 56 yards and two touchdowns, along with 75 receptions for 611 yards and four touchdowns. During his four seasons with Miami, Ingold appeared in 66 games with 47 starts, totaling 20 carries for 34 yards and two touchdowns while adding 47 receptions for 372 yards and one touchdown. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2023 and participated in two postseason games with the Dolphins in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Ingold also served as a three-time team captain from 2023 to 2025. He was nominated twice for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award (2023, 2024), recognized as the team’s Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominee in 2022, received the Don Shula Leadership Award in 2023, and was named the club winner of the Ed Block Courage Award in 2022. The Ed Block Courage Award is chosen by athletic training staff to honor professionalism, courage, inspiration, and community role models.
Jason Sanders spent seven seasons with Miami (2018-24), appearing in a total of 116 games. He converted on field goals at an accuracy rate of nearly eighty-five percent (84.6%), including making thirty-three out of forty-eight attempts from fifty or more yards away. Sanders also holds franchise records for most consecutive field goals made by a Dolphins kicker (27) and has achieved first-team All-Pro honors in the year twenty-twenty. In addition to his regular season achievements, he played in two postseason contests with Miami during the twenty-twenty-two and twenty-twenty-three campaigns.
Sanders joined Miami as a seventh-round pick (229th overall) during the twenty-eighteen NFL Draft after playing college football at New Mexico.
