The Miami Dolphins announced on Mar. 12 that they have signed edge rusher Robert Beal Jr.
Beal Jr. brings experience from his time with the San Francisco 49ers, where he played in 25 games over three seasons from 2023 to 2025. During his tenure with the team, he recorded a total of 24 tackles, including eight solo tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss. He also contributed on special teams with 12 stops, eight of which were solo efforts. In addition to regular season play, Beal Jr. appeared in four postseason games with the 49ers during the 2023 and 2025 seasons.
Beal Jr. entered the National Football League as a fifth-round pick (173rd overall) by San Francisco in the 2023 NFL Draft. Prior to his professional career, he played college football at Georgia from 2018 to 2022. While at Georgia, he helped lead the Bulldogs to two consecutive National Championships in 2021 and 2022. Over his collegiate career, Beal Jr. appeared in 47 games with ten starts and tallied a total of 72 tackles (36 solo), along with ten and a half sacks, two passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
The signing adds depth to the Dolphins’ defensive lineup as they prepare for upcoming seasons.
