The Miami Dolphins announced on March 16 that they have signed tackle Charlie Heck as an unrestricted free agent.
Heck brings experience to the Dolphins, having played in 67 career games with 29 starts over six seasons. His previous teams include Houston, Arizona, San Francisco, and Tampa Bay. He has started at both right and left tackle positions and also served as an extra offensive lineman in one game. In addition to his regular season appearances, Heck played in two postseason games with the Houston Texans.
Heck was originally selected by Houston in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the 126th overall pick. Before entering the NFL, he played college football at North Carolina from 2016 to 2019, where he appeared in 43 games and made 34 starts across both tackle positions.
The signing adds depth to the Dolphins’ offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team did not disclose further contract details or comment on how Heck will fit into their plans moving forward.
