The Miami Dolphins announced on March 13 that they have signed long snapper Tucker Addington and punter Seth Vernon.
The addition of Addington and Vernon brings new depth to the Dolphins’ special teams unit as the team prepares for upcoming competitions.
Addington has played in 10 career games over three seasons with New England in 2022 and 2024, Washington in 2023, and Miami in 2024. He began his National Football League career as a free agent with Dallas in 2022, spending time on the Cowboys’ practice squad. Before joining Dallas, Addington played for the Houston Gamblers—now called the Roughnecks—of the United States Football League in 2022. He also played college football at Sam Houston State, appearing in 34 games over four seasons from 2016 to 2019.
Vernon entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Atlanta in 2022. He participated in offseason activities and training camp with Minnesota before joining Tampa Bay’s practice squad in 2024. In the following year, he spent the season with the Michigan Panthers of the United Football League, where he appeared in nine games and recorded a total of 23 punts for 1,044 yards, averaging 45.4 yards per punt with eight punts landing inside the opponent’s twenty-yard line. Vernon’s collegiate career was at Portland State from 2019 to 2021, where he played in 24 games and tallied a total of 93 punts for 4,148 yards (44.6 average), including placing twenty-four punts inside the twenty-yard line.
The signings reflect ongoing efforts by Miami to strengthen its roster ahead of future matchups.
