Rep. Frederica Wilson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 24th district since 2011, announced a series of upcoming tele-town halls addressing democracy, healthcare, and other pressing issues in recent posts on her official X account.
On August 26, 2025, Wilson posted: “I’m hosting a teletown hall THIS WEDNESDAY on our democracy, health, and future. I’ll be joined by national leaders to address your concerns and discuss recent actions in Congress and this administration.
Tune in Wednesday—you won’t want to miss it.”
Later that day, she reiterated the invitation with another post: “I’m hosting a tele-town hall TOMORROW and your not going to want to miss it!
We’ll be talking about healthcare, food assistance, immigration, education, our democracy, and so much more

On August 27, Wilson emphasized the event’s focus on legislation affecting democratic processes: “We’re hosting a teletown hall TONIGHT on the ‘Big, Ugly Law’ and the threats to democracy.

Frederica Wilson has represented Florida’s 24th district since succeeding Kendrick Meek in 2011. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Florida Senate from 2002 to 2010 and the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002. Born in Miami in 1942 and currently residing in Miami Gardens at age 80, Wilson graduated from Fisk University with a BA in 1963.
