Representative Frederica Wilson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 24th district, recently shared several messages on social media covering various topics including local community pride, healthcare policy, and international human rights.
On May 13, 2025, Wilson celebrated the anniversary of Miami Gardens by expressing her longstanding connection to the city. She stated: “Happy Birthday to Miami Gardens! For decades, I have been proud to call the City of Miami Gardens home and am so grateful to represent this beautiful community. I can’t wait to continue to celebrate Miami Gardens for years to come.”
Later that day, Wilson addressed healthcare issues in a post regarding proposed legislative changes by Republicans in Congress. She asserted: “Republicans in Congress are attempting to slash Medicaid and strip healthcare from millions of Americans. This cannot stand and we must protect Medicaid.”
On May 14, 2025, Wilson participated in “Wear Blue Wednesday,” an initiative aimed at raising awareness about hostage situations involving Americans abroad. She shared positive news about recent developments while reiterating ongoing efforts: “Every Wednesday is Wear Blue Wednesday because enough is enough. This week, I’m proud the last American hostage was released. And our fight to #BringBackTheHostages continues until we bring all the hostages home.”
Frederica Wilson has served in Congress since 2011 after succeeding Kendrick Meek and has previously held positions in both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives.
