Miami Dade County issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.
This Halloween adopters take home pets with costumes
Why go trick-or-treating when you can get tricks and treats at Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department this Halloween. When you treat yourself to a new furry family member and adopt a pet from Friday, October 29 through Sunday, October 31 at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, we’ll treat you to a complimentary Halloween costume, while supplies last.
Pets over four months come with all vaccinations, de-worming, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, heartworm test (over six months of age), rabies license tags (for Miami-Dade County residents only) and FIV/FeLV test for cats. Adoption fees are as follows: $65 for dogs 4 months and older, $85 for puppies younger than 4 months, and $30 for cats and kittens with a second cat at no charge.
Animal Services’ Pet Adoption and Protection Center is open for adoptions Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To ensure adherence to social distancing guidelines and for the safety and protection of adopters and staff, the number of individuals allowed in the shelter at any one time will be strictly controlled, as will the number of customers allowed in each adoption suite. Visitors to the Pet Adoption and Protection Center are required to wear masks or face coverings at all times while on the premises.
