At its regular monthly meeting, the Miami-Dade School Board awarded a contract to Veitia Padron Incorporated (VPI) as the Construction Management at-Risk (CMR) firm for the General Obligation Bond renovation project at Miami Springs Senior High School valued at approximately $15.6 million.
Built in 1963, Miami Springs Senior High currently is comprised of 14 permanent buildings on an approximate 6-acre parcel of land. Located by North Royal Poinciana Blvd. on the east and Dove Ave. on the south, the school has a capacity of 2,095 student stations.
The proposed scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: installation of a new student drop-off and covered walkway; HVAC upgrades; interior painting throughout, replacement of the school’s marquee sign, elevator and drinking fountains; and resurfacing parking lots and the basketball courts.
Total project allocation - $15.6 million Completion – September 2024
Total sub-consultant S/MBE participation: 17.68 percent
Total sub-consultant M/WBE participation: 11.59 percent
