Beginning July 11, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will embark on the ninth annual Synergy 2022, a premier professional development event where school staff prepares for the coming school year.
The five-day conference will be held for principals, assistant principals, teacher leaders and counselors at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104th St., Miami, FL 33176. This year’s theme, “Connect305,” is appropriate considering the roles parents and educators play as partners in the education of children. Featured speakers will include Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres, MDC President Madeline Pumariega, Sean Joffrion, director of fine arts at East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools, and MDC Hialeah and Kendall Campus President Dr. Anthony Cruz, among many others.
More than 1,000 sessions with more than 250 presenters will focus on a comprehensive approach for school sites to develop action plans as they prepare to address Florida Standards. During Synergy 2022, expert educators will provide innovative workshops and courses that will offer tools, resources and expert panels coupled with timely and relevant content. There is an expected attendance of more than 2,300 participants.
For the third consecutive year, The Parent Academy will launch a series of virtual educational sessions to prepare families and caregivers for a successful school year. These webinars will focus on how to help parents navigate technology for distance learning, assist students with social emotional development and support children through their transition in grade levels.
