Bobcat Volleyball Tabbed to Repeat as Sun Conference Champions

St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Volleyball team has been tabbed to go back-to-back as Sun Conference Regular Season Champions as voted in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The poll was released by the conference office on Thursday morning.

The Bobcats won their first regular season title since 2017 this past season. Head Coach Whitney Battoe and freshmen Bianca Grassi took home superlatives last year in Coach of the Year and Libero of the Year, respectively. St. Thomas went 12-2 in conference play and 21-7 overall for Coach Battoe's first 20-win season.

STU earned five of the eight first place votes collecting 47 points. Ave Maria, who is the reigning tournament champions came in second with 42 points and two first place votes. Southeastern earned the final first place vote and 33 points o finish third.

Keiser took the fourth slot with 27 points, Coastal Georgia finished fifth with 26 points, Florida Memorial is predicted to finish sixth and earned 22 points.

Webber International (16 points) and Warner (11 points) round out the poll predicted to place seventh and eighth, respectively.

The season is set to open against nationally ranked Missouri Baptist on Thursday August 18 from the Fernandez Family Center Gym at 6 p.m. Full schedule can be found here.
