Just three weeks into the 2022 season, the St. Thomas Univesrity (STU) Football team earned the highest rankinng in program history coming in at no. 22 in the latest NAIA Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25 Poll.
The highest ranking prior to today was last season when STU was ranked 23rd in the Week Seven Poll on October 25th.
St. Thomas has uplifted to a 2-1 record after taking a tough fall in week one to NCAA Divison I Butler. Since then, the Bobcats have picked up their first ranked win over then no. 11 Saint Xavier on the road 31-10. week three brouhgt more history with the first game being played on campus at the newly dedicated AutoNation Field. St. Thomas brought their A-game recording their second shutout in program history, first at home, with a 52-0 win against North American.
There is still a lot of games left to play and one of the biggest challenges lies ahead this upcoming Saturday, September 23rd at 6 p.m., as the Bobcats welcome no. 21 Southeastern University to AutoNation Field for non-conference action.
