Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres, Principal Dr. Christina Ravelo, School Board and District representatives and students from Palm Springs North Elementary gathered this morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the school’s new 24,500 sq-ft, two-story addition in Hialeah.
Thornton Construction Company was contracted to deliver the $15.6 million addition with 466 student stations, containing a satellite administration suite, eight primary classrooms, 17 intermediate classrooms, a media center, new covered walkways, a courtyard, parking areas, and site improvements.
The school bond projects resulted from voter approval of the $1.2 billion General Obligation Bond. The bond is being used to modernize and construct school buildings throughout the District, expand student capacity, enhance facility safety, and provide technology upgrades at all schools.
