MELBOURNE, Fla. - Barry's K'Nari Holliday was named the Sunshine State Conference women's basketball Freshman of the Year on the 2022-23 All-SSC teams. She was also named to the All-Newcomer squad.

Holliday from Barry University took Freshman of the Year honors, as the only rookie on the All-Newcomer team. The 6-1 center from Apopka, Florida, saw action in all 28 regular season games this season for the Buccaneers. She averaged 7.1 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting 59.7 percent from the floor. Holliday is the fourth women's basketball athlete from Barry to Freshman of the Year. Previous Buccaneer rookie winners include Mary Schaeffer (1989-90), Angie Williams (1996-97) and Karla Mast (2003-04).
