WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night, Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) was awarded the prestigious title of Policymaker of the Year by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for her unwavering dedication to addressing the issues that directly impact the Hispanic community in the United States. The award was presented to her alongside her Democratic colleague, Rep. Veronica Escobar, who co-sponsored the landmark Dignity Act (H.R. 3599).

"I am deeply honored to receive this award from the Recording Industry Association of America alongside some of the most celebrated voices in Latin music and culture," said Rep. Salazar. "Hispanic people in this country understand what makes America, the Promised Land, so special. I look forward to continuing to work with my friend and colleague Veronica Escobar to deliver change for our communities."

The RIAA Chief Policy Officer, Morna Willens, recognized Reps. María Elvira Salazar and Veronica Escobar for their profound connection to their communities and cultures, presenting them with the Policymaker of the Year award. The event also honored Cuban American music legends Gloria and Emilio Estefan with the Icon and Industry Trailblazer awards, respectively, while Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra was acknowledged as Artist of the Year. Additionally, Maria Fernandez, Executive VP and COO of Sony Music Entertainment Latin Iberia, received the Executive of the Year award.

The Dignity Act, which Reps. Salazar and Escobar have championed, continues to garner strong bipartisan support in Congress, attracting statements of endorsement from national stakeholders across the United States.
